Q: How does a US-Bid.net Online Auction work?
A: In our Online Auctions, all lots are listed on our website and are available for viewing and bidding until the specified closing date and time. Online bidding at US-Bid.net works the same as if you were at a live auction except the bids are made and received online.
Q: Do I need to register for each Auction or State?
A: No, with the US-Bid Network, your bidder number and password are good for all auctions throughout the US-Bid Network, for example NY-Bid.net, CA-Bid.net, FL-Bid.net.
Q. How does the bidding work?
A. The bids on our online auctions are simulcast over the Internet in real-time, allowing you to see each lot up for bid, the current high bid, and the next required bid.
Q: Do I have to pay any fees to participate in a US-Bid.net Online Auction?
A: No, but all purchased items have a Buyers Premium and sales tax is added as required by State or local law.
Q: Is there a warranty for any items purchased at an auction?
A: No, All merchandise is sold "AS IS" "WHERE IS". There are no warranties, no guarantees. All sales are final. Please view the items on the specified inspection days to inspect the item.
Q: How do I bid?
A: There are two places to enter bids; “Next Bid” and “Max Bid”
Next Bid – This is where you enter the bid you would like to place. You can put in any amount as long as it is at or above the next bid required per the bidding increments.
Max Bid – This is where you can enter the highest price you want to pay for the particular lot. Once you enter a max bid, US-Bid will automatically bid for you, up to that amount, increasing your bid by the minimum bid increment, only when you have been outbid by another bidder. So, you could win the lot for less than the max bid you entered.
Q: Why would I submit a max bid?
A: Max bids save you time because you don't have to watch the auction - the system bids for you. Max bids make sure that your bids are recognized, just in case you have to leave your computer, or something happens to your Internet connection or computer during the auction close. Max bids are especially useful when you are bidding on many lots that are closing within minutes of each other. They will make sure that you don't miss out on lots just because you are bidding on another lot.
Q: Can I raise My max bid?
A: Yes, you can. Leave the next required box open and put your new higher max bid in the max bid box. However, at times this will raise your own bid. The system looks at the next highest bid other than yours and raises it 1 increment. So depending on the bidding history, your bid may go up.
Q: Can I cancel an unwanted bid?
A: After you submit a bid, it cannot be canceled. However if you missed putting in a decimal point or the bid was an obvious Type-O, contact customer service so we may cancel the bid for you. If you do not call us to cancel a bid you placed prior to the auction, you will be liable for the bid amount entered if you are the winner of the item. Bids can not be cancelled just because you changed your mind.
Q: How do I know if I am winning a lot?
A: If you are winning a lot, your bidder ID will appear next to "High Bidder" in the bidding screens and lot details for that lot. Be sure to refresh often to update the data on your screen.
Q: How do I know if I won a lot after it has closed?
A: By 12 Noon the day following the auction, you will receive an emailed invoice from US-Bid listing the items won and payment instructions and amounts.
Q: Do I have to pay sales tax on Internet Auction items?
A: Yes. All sales are subject to applicable State and local Sales Tax. If you are buying for resale or are tax exempt, fax or email a completed exempt form to US-Bid.
Q: How much do things sell for?
A: There is no answer to this question. Sale price depends on the merchandise (car, truck, equipment, jewelry, etc...). Such things as condition, appeal and uniqueness all play a part. Also, the prices bid depend on how badly two people at an auction want an item.
Q: Are Non-residents allowed to bid at your auctions?
A: As long as you have a government issued ID for registration, a valid credit/debit card, and a valid email address, you can register to bid on our auctions.
Q: Is shipping available for items purchased at auction?
A: Shipping is available for most items at additional cost, please refer to the auction listing for details.
Q: Is there a minimum bid price on auction merchandise?
A: There is no minimum bid on items unless specified “This item has a reserve” or similar statement. Sellers are contractually forbidden from bidding on their own items.
PLEASE SEE OUR TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR ADDITIONAL DETAILS
